UPDATE TWO: Epic Games has now announced when Fortnite update 7.40 will begin being released on all platforms, which could mean more clues for the launch of the Fortnite Prisoner skin’s stage 4.
Downtime and maintenance of servers is scheduled to start tomorrow, February 13, at around 9am, GMT. This would be the earliest time for the new Fortnite Prisoner stage 4 skin to begin being unlocked.
However, Thursday, February 14, still appears to be the most likely day for this event. However, data miners will start checking for news straight after the new update has been released.
UPDATE ONE: It has now been confirmed by Epic Games that Fortnite’s next update will not be released until Wednesday, February 13.
This rules out any chance of the new Fortnite Prisoner stage 4 skin unlock happening today.
ORIGINAL: Epic Games will be upgrading the Fortnite prisoner skin in the coming days, although, fans still don’t know exactly when.
For those that might not have heard, the Fortnite Prisoner was part of the recent snowfall challenge and is still an ongoing quest.
That’s because it has a total of four stages that can be unlocked to complete a sizzling new look.
The Prisoner skin is expected to be completed in the coming days, with Epic Games yet to provide a time for when the stage 4 skin unlock will begin.
It’s been a long process covering most of Fortnite Season 7, with fans having to complete all the weekly challenges, including collecting the secret battle stars and banners.
And having ticked that off the list, Battle Pass owners then had to complete each stage of the Prisoner skin through quests to progress further.
And with stage 3 of the special outfit now unlocked, players are just waiting on that final phase.
Many want to know how to get to stage 4, completing the new Fortnite skin and providing the best design for it.
But for now, stage 4 of the prisoner skin is expected to stay locked until at least Tuesday, February 12.
This is when the next Fortnite update is expected to land and could contain more on the stage 4 Prisoner skin unlock.
So far, each phase has been unlocked on a Thursday, which during week 11 would mean Valentine’s Day.
And that seems as good a day as any to have stage 4 unlocked for everyone following the Snowfall quests.
