A new bouncer item is set top be added in this week’s Fortnite update, and it will let players avoid fall damage.

It was revealed in the latest ‘new updates’ notification when players log-in to play Fortnite, saying that it is coming soon.

There was a similar bounce pad available in an earlier version of the game, but it was removed during an update last year.

It joins a number of items focused on elevating characters into the air, including jetpacks and hot rocks that were introduced in season 4, as well as the launch pad.

The bouncer description says ‘Place this pad for a big bounce boost – no fall damage!’

Early clips show that it only takes up a quarter of a platform and it doesn’t provide high elevation.

However, the item can project a player quite far in whichever direction they are moving in.

The new update for Fortnite is set to take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

Last week’s patch saw the introduction of shopping carts that let players travel across the map faster, as well as the return of the Blitz and Team of 20 game modes.

This is fast-paced game mode where the storm already starts closing in as soon as the game begins.

It will include all of the new weapons that have been added since the mode was last available to play, which means the Port-a-Fort, clingers and jetpacks will all be available to use.

The other main change this time around is that the bus at the start of the game will be at a lower height so that players can reach the ground faster.

Matches usually last for around 15 minutes and there is an increased chance of finding chests and ammo as their spawn rate is higher.

Your progress in this game mode also contribute to your overall gameplay statistics.

Teams of 20 V2

This game mode has some similarities to the popular 50vs50 gameplay, but the teams are smaller so instead it is five teams of twenty.

Each team will now have its own bus at the start of the game and both the chests and supply drops will have more ammo and consumables.

There is an increased chance of chests and ammo boxes spawning, and there are only six storm circles instead of nine with a game-length of around 20 minutes.

All player stats expect for wins are counted in this game mode.
