It’s fair to say that there’s a lot of interest surrounding Fortnite Battle Royale right now.
Having polished off a successful season with a rocket launch and the crack in the sky mystery, Epic Games are now turning their attention to the future.
This will include the launch of season 5, as well as the announcement of the official Fortnite Android release date.
And from what we learnt this week, the new Fortnite for Mobile port could be a massive success for Epic Games.
According to the latest stats, Fortnite Battle Royale is making a lot more than its biggest rival.
PUBG is not competing anywhere near the same levels when it comes to player spend.
And while Battlegrounds has seen a new event pass launch this year, it’s hard to predict whether this will help it close the gap.
Here’s more from Bloomberg, who take note of where these games are doing well, adding: “Fortnite gets the lion’s share of sales from America.
“The U.S. has contributed more than 60 per cent of the gross revenue it’s earned so far, according to SensorTower estimates to the end of June.
“In contrast, PUBG, backed by South Korean studio Bluehole, found a foothold in Asia. Japan and South Korea account for 17 per cent and 11 per cent of gross revenue, respectively, over the same period, according to data provided by the consultancy.
“Money-wise, PUBG’s gaining some momentum against its more lucrative rival, but the disparity remains extreme. Players of both spend real money on in-game gear as well as avatar customisation: Fortnite sports a more stylized, cartoonish look and feel.”
The good news for PUBG Mobile is that it has had a lot more downloads on the mobile platform than Fortnite Battle Royale.
And while these have tapered off for PUBG Mobile, it can only be seen as a positive move forward.
However, the Fortnite Android release could change all of this very soon.
Android is the bigger platform, with many tablets and phones using it as their baseline.
So when the new Android app download is released, there’s a good chance Epic Games will see it picked up by a lot of fans.
One of the benefits that helps drive interest in Fortnite on mobile is that players can share their experience and cosmetics across many platforms.
This feature isn’t currently available on the PS4 when it comes to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, although, there’s always the slim chance this will change in the future.
When it comes to the final Android release date, there has been speculation…
