The Fortnite Prisoner skin is Epic Games latest secret as part of the games ongoing Snowfall challenge and earlier this week fans were able to unlock the third stage of this constantly evolving skin.
For anyone who doesn’t know the ‘Prisoner’ is/was the character encased in Ice at Polar Peak Castle who began to slowly thaw out of the ice in the run up to week 7.
When the skin eventually unlocked, it didn’t have any stages, despite leaks suggesting it would.
Eventually, players discovered that it did, in fact, have stages and these would unlocking once per week upon the discovery of certain keys hidden in the game and tied to the games loading screens.
For anyone who needs a bit more explanation, the Prisoner skin has four stages of progression which show the character slowly unshackled from his chains before evolving into a sort of fiery volcanic demon.
The first stage showed the Prisoner character with metal shackle across his face. Like something, a medieval torturer might use to stop someone from talking.
But the second stage was quickly unlocked when players discovered a key in Polar Peak.
when the skin unlocked, it didn’t have any stages. Which was, well, a bit odd.
The first stage showed the Prisoner character with a sort of shackle across his face. Like something, a medieval torturer might use to stop someone from talking.
The next stage of the skin (stage 3) shows even more of the supernatural looking character, with some firey volcanic lines on his skin.
This was unlocked earlier this week following the release of the Week 10 Challenges and required players to find a very specific environmental campfire near Paradise Palms.
So the question now on all fans minds is when will they be able to unlock the Stage 4 skin for the Prisoner?
Well, that’s where things get tricky.
So far we’ve seen the stages released alongside the games new challenges, usually with a clue found within the games loading screen.
The issue of contention is that normally we don’t Week 11 challenges during any season, because by Week 10, the new season is already underway. Likewise, there wouldn’t typically be a week 11 loading screen.
So, it’s a bit of a guessing game.
It’s quite possible that Stage 4 will be tied in some shape or form to the upcoming Share The Love event, which has technically started already.
That being said, the events special Overtime Challenges…
